Savelugu Senior High School officially launches maiden SRC Week celebration
This comes after an earlier clean-up exercise over the weekend at the Yoo Naa's Palace and the Savelugu Municipal Hospital.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. Abdulai encouraged learners to "make hay whilst the sun shines." He said "an individual who decides to choose rest instead of work at a young age, shall work at their old age instead of rest."
Speaking further, the headmaster also admonished learners, especially the females, to as much as possible desist from engaging in romantic relationships both within and without the school premises. He opined that at such a tender age, female learners are vulnerable and may be exploited by some men.
On his part, the Assistant Headmaster, Academics, Alhassan Ibrahim stated that "the SRC Week celebration is a plus to the positive image of the school." He however added that "a complete success of the maiden celebration will be measured by the performance of the final year learners in their Wassce."
Meanwhile, the Assistant Headmaster, Domestic, Mohammed Sumaila has cautioned the learners, saying "the celebration must not be used as a platform to showcase indiscipline in the school."
Mr. Sumaila said there has never been a reward for indiscipline and called on all learners to be at their very best during the celebration.
The Maiden SRC Week is celebrated under the theme "Students in Substance Abuse: Dangers and the way forward".
